New obsession

So for the time being I have traded my obsession with ribbon to shoes. Since starting my new weight loss journey I have decided to reward myself with a new pair of shoes for every 5 pounds lost. That's a pretty good trade off right? So here are the beauties I have my eyes on next.

Busy bee

It's been forever since I posted on here.... I have a new blog as well but will try to keep up with both ...

After finding myself laid off from both jobs (one with the state of CA and the other with the local community college) I decided to turn my love of photography into a side business and so far it's really taken off.

You can see some of my work at www.sandradeephotography.blogspot.com

I also am still making hair bows and tutu's as well... I was just asked to become the photographer for a new baby boutique not sure that will work with my schedule yet but it would give me some great exposure. Still working on my IT Bachelors Degree.

Still standing with work, school and 3 pirates but only by the grace of God.

It's Been a Minute ...

It's been quiet sometime since I have posted anything ... so here's a brief update..... I am still recovering from the head on collision that had taken place in January. I feel so much better than I had with a few flair ups from the disc problems in my back and neck from time to time. Still seeing a chiropractor we are trying to push for every two weeks.

I am finally almost finished with my Bachelors degree, seems like it's taken forever!!!!! I haven't decided if I want to continue on with my Masters or not, might as well really. We shall see.

My oldest started the official Junior High this year which is now 7th and 8th grade only. As my middle child started kindergarten. Next year all three will be in school ... whew where does the time go?

So I have kinda fallen into doing some photography work since my job with the State has came to a halt due to California's budget crisis.... looks like my other job with the college will too be cut as of January 2010.

So I have a few things on the side that I am working on in the mean time. I started another blog with the photo stuff, not that I feel as if I am a professional by any means.... it's more just a passion of mine and a friend requested I do some of their photos.

the blog is www.sandradeephotography.blogspot.com

I also am excited about my hair bows and tutu's I have been making are currently being sold in a local gift shop in Yuba City. I also have a site on Etsy I created sometime ago but haven't had the time to list anything with all of the other projects, work, school and kids of course. That site is www.tutugirlie.etsy.com

I think that's all for now I hope this finds all my family and friends doing well. Take care and talk to ya soon!

Happy New Year!!

Well I hope this post finds you doing well in 2009. I am excited about this year and all the changes that are happening with it.

I just have to say, I have the most amazing friends in the world and want to take each and every one of them for the part they have played in my life some way or another. I find it amazing that no matter how long you are apart from each other, busy in your own little world when we get together again we can pick up where we left off SIMPLY AMAZING! I think that's the best part.

I have struggled these past few weeks because it is the 8th year anniversary of one of my very best friends deaths. I still find myself wanting to pick up the phone and call her to tell her about my day at times. "Miss Georgia I love and miss ya girl!"

Friendships are soooooo priceless and I just wanted to take this time to let all my friends know that I love them so very much and thank them for being a part of my life! MWAHHH!

A check up from the neck up!

Wow, what an amazing weekend! I'm glad to be blogging again so I could share it with ya!!

I just got back from a ladies retreat and let me tell ya it was incredible. The speaker was amazing and it was a "check up from the neck up" if I ever needed one.

Positive Perspective, Personal Inventory, and Purpose were the 3 topic points. Some stuff that I found encouraging and wanted to share.

Positive Perspective

The most powerful self talk, "it could be worse" No matter what situation you are facing "if God brought you to it; then he will bring you through it."

God is sufficent and he will satisfy.

Personal Inventory

Forgivness doesn't make them right, it just makes you free.

Choosing not to forgive let's them continue to offend us.

Don't let others rent space in your head.

You don't have to forgive and forget, just forgive and set boundaries.

Purpose

As Christians you are not here to soak in a spiritual spa, you were saved to serve.

It is our job to catch the fish, but Gods job to clean em.

He doesn't call the equipped, he equips the called.

So there you have it ... when your all stressed and have no one to choke, think to yourself "it could be worse"

Now before I am off to apply this to my own life (or at least try lol) I leave this quote:

"When God aims us in a new direction, we have to let go of what we've known, be willing to embrace the unfamiliar, and trust that He will sustain us on the journey."

I just love that quote and for those of you who know me, know I have a hard time of stepping outside my bubble. I pray this helps me put things in to balance a little better.

Love and blessings to you all!

Trying To Find Balance In All Of This...

Whew, what a week so far! I am into my 7th week of school, just finished my A.S. Degree and now working on my Bachelors. I often ask myself (why am I doing this???)

Trying to balance being a single mom raising 3 wonderful children, going to school full time, working two part time jobs and trying to manage getting decent grades.... bahahaha.... I am starting to feel a little pressure but know in the end (if I am not in the Psych ward) it will all pay off! I feel like I am missing so much time with my kids.

My oldest just started 6th grade and is now taller than me ( which isn't that hard to do but she's only 11) The two almost twins are in preschool getting prepped to start kindergarten next year and are growing by leaps and bounds.

Finding the balance in all of this is going to be a GI-normous challenge for me this semester. For some reason I am just not feeling it like I was the previous semesters. We shall see...

Outta The Mouth Of Babes...

The funniest thing happened yesterday, my 3 year old and youngest child Maddie has been very interested in movies lately with real people (not cartoon characters). So we are searching on demand over the weekend and come across the movie Matilda. I myself never watching it was curious to see what it was about etc...

During the movie I must have asked myself a dozen times "Should I let her watch this" it was a little rough but very captivating. She was hooked! We must have watched that movie at least 4 times this past weekend.

So getting out of the car yesterday she was giving me an attitude and when I finally said "Maddie you better get out of the car now" She said with a BIG attitude "Gosh mom, you just don't appreciate me" I was floored, where did she come up with such an idea?

So I asked her and she said Matilda! Nice, I thought to myself and had to sit down and explain to her that I did appreciate her and she was very important and special. Too stinking cute ... I still am not sure if I should have let her watch the movie because now she wants to stay at home alone, cook and go to the library like her little girl in the movie.

It's amazing how children are so observant when we least suspect it!
